Web 2.0 Apps
The app that I choose to use was Penzu. I have been looking a a diary/journal application that I would enjoy using. There are applications now for almost anything someone could want to do. Not only are there apps for every purpose but one can even choose the format that is preferable to them.
I signed up for an account with Penzu. I started a personal diary to keep my thoughts about things in my life. The application will even remind me to jot down my thoughts on regular intervals.
There were many other applications that also looked very helpful. But this was just what I was looking for right now!
Digital Storytelling
Lost Lady by pamplinkinder
I really enjoyed the task of creating a digital story.
I viewed some of the stories on the little birdies website.
I loved how the children created and added voice to their own stories.
However, I chose to use Toondoo to make my story come to life.
It was a very easy drag and drop process to create my story.
I think students would love to use these tools to create their own stories.
They are also great tools for teachers to use to reach their students in a manner that would be easy to understand and accept.
Wiki
Wiki - Trade Days Ideas
The creation of the wiki was very interesting.
I think that this could be extremely useful for teachers, classrooms and schools.
How often do groups of teachers need to have a discussion and make a discussion?
This could easily be done with a wiki.
I find it very difficult to keep track of what is going on in email, but in a wiki, it is easy to see the current version and current ideas.
I think this could be used with all kinds of group projects, activities, and meetings.
RSS
I was very interested to learn more about RSS. I had previously been familiar with RSS and its ability to notify you of website updates. However, I had never found a good way to keep track of them.
Feedly is such a welcome application. I love the ability to keep track of all of the teaching blogs that I enjoy and quickly know which ones I should check for updates. This is my PLN.
I think that PLN is a wonderful resource for teachers and a natural outgrowth of teachers using the web and sharing their knowledge with other teachers.
Google Drive - Google Docs

I love Google Docs and Google Drive.
It is such an easy way to make sure that you have the information that you need with you wherever you go.
Anything that you might need to have to send to someone, like a resume or sales presentation, can be saved there. Then, in a second you can access it, send it, share it, etc.
Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is something that is not new to me.
I have been using Pinterest for many years and now use to to save hoards of teaching ideas. So many in fact that I can rarely find things pinned by my friends related to non-teaching stuff.
I have also used this type of interface to add things to my Amazon wish list.
Today, I created a Delicious account - super easy!
Then, I downloaded the Delicious web tool from the Chrome store.
The rest was as simple as going to my favorite websites, clicking on the Delicious icon on my toolbar, and adding a few details.
Easy peasy!
Blogster
I used Blogster.com to create a page about the lunar landing to use for my upcoming lessons on space.
The application was extremely easy to use and allowed me to search within it for pictures and videos to use.
I could not have asked for an easier interface.
It did take me a few minutes to find the Embed Code link, but once found, it was also very easy to use.
I think this will be an easy and fun addition to my classroom!
